There is a very good local shop in Elvington which sells Newspapers and provisions, only two minutes by car or ½ an hour on foot.
Sainsburys and Somerfield Supermarkets can be found 5 miles away in Pocklington. Along with good local butchers and bakers etc. there is also a market every Tuesday.

Sutton Upon Derwent is a convenient 5 miles from York Park and Ride, so you can visit the city of York and walk on the historic city walls in next to no time, or have a day out at Flamingo Land with the children, it's up to you!
We're ideally placed for visiting local villages such as Elvington and Cottingwith, a bit farther afield are Bridlington, Scarborough, the North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales and the famous Black Sheep Brewery.
